Question:
Has anyone here ever done home drug testing or usd a home drug testing
kit? Is it worthwhile? Did your kids resent it much? How much does it
cost? I've seen prices ranging from 59.95 to over $100 and it seems
like that's kind of high.
Answer:
Do you have a real reason to believe your kids might be doing drugs?
Perhaps you did a few things when you were their age and half assume that
they must be doing similar things now. I've seen stuff about the home
drug testing for awhile now. It's not like a test for some types of
cancer which have no symptoms at first. If your kid is doing drugs you
will know that something is wrong. If you have real reason to believe
they are on something then do whatever you can to get them help, but
don't assume there is a problem. I'm writing to you about this because
of what happened to me. When I was a teenager my parents assumed that
I must be on drugs because of some of the friends that I had. I wasn't
on drugs and had never been on drugs. But no matter what I said they did
not believe me. I was given both a urine test and a blood test and both
came back clean. Only then did they begin to believe that I might be
telling the truth, but they still didn't trust me for a long time. On
more than one occassion I found that my room had been gone through and I
can only assume they were looking for drugs. That was over ten years ago
and perhaps things are worse now, perhaps it is the norm for the average
kid to be messed up on dope but I have a hard time believing that. What
I do believe is that some very slick businessmen are making a good living
off these tests. You shouldn't need a test to know if your kid has a
problem.
