Can you folks tell me anything about the C-A-D and what you think of it?

Question:
I've just started trying to get my weight under control - at 5'8", 43yrs and 290lbs, I HAVE to.

One of the things I've been thinking a lot about lately is carbohydrates and how much of a role they play. I LOVE sweets and breads. I can easily eat 10 slices of white bread in one sitting - and that's with other food too.

I've heard about the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet and am wondering if it's any good. I hear a lot about nutritionists saying that low-carb diets are bad for you because of the imbalance in your diet but I also wonder if perhaps I qualify as an "addict".

Can you folks tell me anything about the C-A-D and what you think of it? I welcome any advice or comments you might care to offer, either here through this website or to my e-mail address.

Answer:
I have been doing CAD diet for a few weeks now (maybe a month). I was on Atkins, but switched. I really think it is a GOOD diet. You eat low carb for 2 meals out of the day then you pick one meal a day in which you can pretty much eat anything you want(but balanced), yes, sugar too., YOu have to eat it in 60 minutes. I lost weight nicely on it. And since you can eat carbs once a day you don't feel so deprived. You Cannot snack in between meals which was good for me cuz I'm the worlds worst snacker I likied it better than Atkins cuz you can have some carbs, fruit and sweets at that one "reward meal" a day. Try it and I think you'l be pleased. Read the book first tho. I think that's important
