Is it possible to be addicted to codeine?

Question:
Is it possible to be addicted to codeine? Anyone have information as to possible side-effects of chronic use (or abuse) of codeine?

Answer:
Yes, its possible to get addicted to codeine - but in my opinion the addiction isn't too severe.

The big side-effect that I've noticed from codeine abuse is tremendous sweating.

The withdrawal can be annoying - headaches, nervousness... but no big deal.

If you think that you are getting addicted, you should probably stop now. Certainly some people react to the drug differently. My guess is that the next step is faking injuries to get prescriptions, abuse of stronger opiates, etc. The type of people featured in 'Drugstore Cowboy' do indeed exist - and I doubt that they started with Dilaudid or heroin.

So - if you decide to stop, send your excess inventory to me!
