A good friend of mine has asked me for written materials on cross
addiction. Her daughter is caught up in this problem, and I could find
nothing printed after a brief web search. Can anyone help?
Answer:
I'm not sure what you mean by cross addiction. Most of the people on
recovery that I've met who are under the age the 45 or so used both
alcohol and drugs. The basic nature of addiction, that we'll do whatever
helps us get out of our feelings, means that we all have a variety of
addicitve behaviors-drugs, alcohol, sex. shopping, gambling, food, risk
taking/adrenaline rushes, etc.
