Does California DMV provide for exemption of firefighters from the Federal
Highway Admin. regulations (49CFR Part 382) that mandate drug and alcohol
testing for safety sensitive positions? Has your department adopted a
substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing?
Answer:
I dont know about California, but the dept I work for in arizona has
one upon hire, if you are involved in a accident while on a
deptartment vehicle, or if there is an allegation against you
regarding drug abuse
