Question:
was just was watching the news ,and a towns school here is requiring
drug tests for every kid (randomly) and teachers as well.
The kids parents must sign a consent form to get these drug tests, and
if not signd...it acts as if they failed the test, and then are
punished...even suspended.
WHATS THIS BULLSHIT?
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Answer:
last week we got a speech from our ASSistant (couldn't resist) principal,
Mr. Bisceglia (apparently it's pronounced "buh-sheel-yah", who knew...)
about how we were all fucking up in school, and we were being disrespectful
and not following rules, etc etc etc. Well he says "anyone who comes into
my office smelling like pot will get send right home".
Now, I thought about this. First of all, the kids who come to school
high/wasted won't care too much if they get sent home...more time to smoke
up. Second of all, who's business is it of what people do *before* they
come to school? There are kids smoking a butt right on the hill outside of
school, and no one gives a fuck when they smell like cancer...but someone
comes in smelling like herb and they're evil. Come on people. It's sad
too. The supposed, yet uninforced, fine for smoking cigarettes on school
ground is $50. Smoking/smelling like pot? You get sent home. Ugh. How
fucked up is that?
Also, about your post specifically...now, I remember the last time I had to
piss in a cup. I was like 6. I doubt that it was a drug test. Now,
they're having people take drug tests. Now, honestly, I do understand them
drug testing teachers and faculty because they are paying these people to
do a job, and it's like any other occupation; they don't want stoned
workers. Now why are the students being drug tested? If they surpirsed my
school with drugs tests tomorrow, we'd have like 2/3 the size of our
classrooms afterwards. Now I'm not saying there's a lot of druggies around
here, but....well, there are. No more than anywhere else, I guess, but
still...the failing rate for my highschool is not 1/3....so this test we
screw over a lot of people...
I just don't see why it would have to be done. Abuse of power, if you ask
me.
