Question:
Does anyone have information on the drug testing method the US army
uses for new recruits? I'm curious to know if this is a urine based
test, or hair, or whatever. Anyone know the details?
Please don't bother responding with "Don't use drugs and you'll pass".
I'm not using illegal drugs, and I have no intention of using any
illegal drugs during military service. However, I have been exposed to
marijuana usage in the past, and I want to make sure that this
experience does not affect my chances for enlisting.
Answer:
You should test clear after 60 days, which is the lifetime of the red blood
cells. You may wish to avoid such items as poppy seed rolls and bagels
containing poppy seeds, as these may cause a positive result for opiates.
You should also avoid blue smoke filled rooms, as passive contact can also
test as positive.
