Question:
Does anybody out there have any experiences with Life Space
Interviews? Is it really something fancy and effective, or is it just a
fancy term for talking to a kid who's mad and finding out why? So if you
have any interesting experiences with it, please, share with the group (or
some e-mail)
Answer:
LSI now referred to as Life Space Crisis Intervention(LSCI)
is a very good tool when used properly to shape a crisis into
a learning opportunity. We have had staff trained every year
for the last 4-5 years. It has proven to give people some pre-crisis
identification skills as well as techniques for dealing with
a crisis at hand. It should go without saying that some of the skills
are common sense kinds of things, but then isn't most of the stuff that really
works rooted in a sensible framework?? I would highly recommend those
that work with difficult populations to look into the subject further.
