Question:
Apparently due to this posting board and web pages run by members
that post here there is a lot of confusion about Narcotics Anonymous
being called Narcanon. Narcotics Anonymous is usually referred to as
NA and in the 15 years I have been associated with the fellowship I
have never heard it called Narcanon. Nor are there any publications
by NA calling ourselves narcanon.
We are a independent fellowship and have no affiliation with any Church or
other outside groups. Neither do we care to get involved in outside
disputes.
Answer:
This gets brought up a lot because of the Scientology front called
"Narconon." Narcotics Anonymous is never (or almost never) known as
Narcanon and on the rare occasions it has been listed as such, that
has been inadvertent and not supported or endorsed by NA.
Still, it can't be emphasized enough that Scientology's scam front
group Narconon has nothing whatsoever to do with Narcotics Anonymous
or any other LEGITIMATE group dealing with the problems of addiction.
